The School Issue has been one that comes up in any discussion we have with our family and friends about this trip. Everyone wants to know how we are going to deal with that. At this point, we do not have a super solid answer, but we do know that we plan to educate our kids while they are away from the traditional school setting and we hope that between the experiences and adventures as well as some good ol fashioned learning (math especially!) they should be fine when they return. At this point, we plan to discuss our plans with all of our kids teachers and our principal and get some guidance on where they should “be” when we get back and make sure they are ready to pick up where they left off.

I’m going to let Erin write more on the educational front when she has some time to contribute to the blog because there are a lot of forces at play (including probably holding our oldest son back a year) that will be much more insightful and thought provoking coming from her.
